Chen Jingbo is the fourth generation inheritor of Zhaobao Taijiquan. He has reached the ultimate state of Taijiquan skills and was called “the master boxer” by his contemporaries. He made friends with martial arts and received many friends in the martial arts world. He was highly skilled and virtuous, and was well-known in the martial arts world at that time. In order to develop Taijiquan skills, he recruited hundreds of disciples. However, the only one who could fully inherit his boxing skills was Zhang Zhongyu (Zhong is also written as Zong). Therefore, in the inheritance of Zhaobao Taijiquan, only Zhang Zhongyu was listed as the fifth generation. Chen Jingbo was 84 years old in the 56th year of Qianlong (1791 AD). At this time, a man nicknamed “Gaishandong Black Lizard Tiger” came to visit. Master Chen was old, so he wanted his disciple Zhang Zhongyu to exchange skills with him. However, the visitor said that he had come to visit Master Chen for advice and wanted to make friends with Chen. Chen knew that the other party had ulterior motives, so he had to accompany him to compete in the open field of the cypress forest in Sunshen Temple. Master Chen was old and had a rival in chess. Although he suggested stopping several times, the opponent kept pressing on and showed no mercy. Master Chen had no choice but to fight back. He beat the Shandong opponent to death, and he himself died hugging a cypress tree due to excessive fatigue. Zhaobao Town left a proverb: “Beat the Shandong opponent to death, and Chen Jingbo died of exhaustion.”
