Zhaobao Tai Chi is not only a fitness art, but also an exquisite martial art, and is known as the “living fossil of Tai Chi.”

The Story Of Taiji Starts in early 1368.

The story of Wudang Zhao Bao Taijiquan in China began in 1368.Taijiquan is a treasure of China’s ancient health culture. Since the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Lao Tzu has used words and language to expound on the harmony between man and nature, between man and man, and between man and health, and the harmony between cultivating the mind and cultivating the nature, cultivating the mind and cultivating the health, and the philosophy and wisdom of health, morality, and being a human being, which are integrated into the theoretical article “Tao Te Ching,” and have been passed down to the world. However, it is difficult for the world to understand and comprehend it, so it combines its own knowledge of health care with the rules of survival in the natural world, and teaches people to learn to use body language to express and explain the philosophy of health care, cultivation of the mind, and harmony with nature, and that is Taijiquan, which is now popular all over the world.

In the past, it was not called Taijiquan, it was called “danjutsu and jutsu”. It has been handed down to the present day, and was renamed Taijiquan only after it was inherited and developed by the ancestor Zhang Sanfeng in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties. During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, Jiang Fashi, a native of Zhao Bao, returned from learning the art from Wang Zongyue of Shanxi Province, and only then did he pass on the Northern School of Zhao Bao Taijiquan to the world, and it has been developed by successive generations of masters through continuous research and inheritance to the present day. It has been passed on to the 10th generation of “Mr. Zheng Wuqing, the Master of the Generation”, “Mr. Zheng Boying, the Master of the Generation”, “Mr. Hou Chunxiu, the Master of the Generation” and other famous masters in the town of Zhaobao with a history of more than 400 years. It has made Zhaobao Taijiquan blossom all over the world.

Origin of Wudang Zhaobao Tai Chi

Wudang Zhaobao Tai Chi was created by Zhang Sanfeng, the founder of Wudang Tai Chi. It was passed on to the world by Liu Guquan, a wandering Taoist in Wudang Mountain, and then passed on to Wang Zongyue in Taigu, Shanxi, and then to Jiang Fa in Zhaobao Town, Wen County, Henan. From then on, it took root in Zhaobao Town and was secretly passed down to the tenth generation.

Wudang Taoist Master Zhang Sanfeng

Zhaobao Tai Chi has followed the rules of father-son succession and master-disciple teaching since ancient times, and has the strict training of “boxing does not leave the village”. Until Japan invaded its hometown and the country was in crisis, the tenth generation masters Zheng Wuqing, Zheng Boying, Hou Chunxiu and others moved to Shaanxi and began to select disciples in the army and the people to teach art, breaking the teacher’s training that was not passed on to others. Since then, it has gradually spread to all parts of the country and abroad.

Zhaobao Tai Chi has completely and systematically retained the theory and method created by the founder Zhang Sanfeng, integrating the three aspects of boxing, pushing hands and free-hand into one furnace, and integrating health preservation and martial arts. Its boxing posture is light and flexible, and its movements are stretched and generous. When practicing, the steps are flexible and circular, interlocking, without obvious force movements, and the routine is continuous, with both softness and hardness. After mastering the routine, the circle is gradually transformed into a circle, and the difficulty of the skills is improved from simple to complex. During the practice, after practicing several times, once it is started, others can see it moving in circles, but they can’t find the beginning and the end, just like the endless flow of the Yangtze River and the sea. It is unique in martial arts and has distinct characteristics. It requires static to control dynamic, soft to overcome hard, avoid the real and attack the virtual, and use force to exert force. It advocates that everything should be based on objectivity, and it will be active if it follows others, and it will be stagnant if it follows oneself.

Zhaobao Tai Chi practice always takes nature and comfort as its main purpose. It moves like flowing water, light as floating clouds, and like a three-foot silk dress hanging on a shadowless tree, floating in the wind, soft and natural. The rotation of yin and yang is like the alternation of day and night, with the external form driving the internal rotation, and then the internal movement drives the external movement, like the operation of the four seasons, naturally. It is like a dragon playing in the water, rising and falling, turning left and right, showing postures in all directions, turning in all directions, twisting and twisting, one ring after another, endless circulation, one circle after another, and everywhere is round.

Wudang Zhaobao Tai Chi emphasizes smoothness and naturalness, lightness and flexibility, following up and down, and unity of inside and outside. Practice boxing with a relaxed and playful mentality, combining relaxation and tranquility, and cultivating both sex and life. Long-term practice can make the qi and blood flow smoothly and the mood happy, and has very obvious health and fitness effects.
