Hou Chunxiu (1904-1985), the 10th generation inheritor of Zhaobao Taijiquan, was the honorary president of the Xi’an Wudang Zhaobao Taijiquan Research Association. Master Hou Chunxiu was born in Zhaobao. At the age of 18, he worshipped Zhang Jingzhi as his teacher. He respected his teacher and respected his teacher as his father. He lived with his master day and night and was deeply taught by Zhang Jingzhi. Master Hou Chunxiu studied Taijiquan, practiced diligently, carefully studied, practiced repeatedly, inherited his teacher’s career, and carried it forward, and finally became a master of Taijiquan. Master Hou Chunxiu is good at the techniques of picking, falling and releasing. His moves are cold, crisp and fast. He is especially good at Sanda Kung Fu. His boxing skills have reached the superb realm of perfection. Because the Zhang-style “Chengjia” he taught is more moderate than the big and small frames of Zheng Boying and Zheng Wuqing who taught boxing in Xi’an, it is also called “Zhongjia”, which is a tripartite with “two Zhengs”.
