Tai Chi push hands is a unique combat sport of Tai Chi performed by two people. It draws on the actual combat experience of ancient martial arts. Without any protective gear, the two people use techniques such as peng, liu, ji, an, cai, , jiao, jianna, etc. to compete and fight, making the opponent lose balance and knocking him out. Push hands practice can give the practitioner a good training of tactile perception throughout the body, improve the sensitivity of the central nervous system, and hone the experience and methods of Tai Chi for combat and free fighting.
Zhaobao Tai Chi push hands is an exercise activity that can only be carried out after the boxing posture is proficient. The two complement each other. Push hands can be used to test whether the boxing posture movements are correct, and the correctness of the boxing posture can further improve the combat level of push hands and free fighting. The routine and push hands are closely combined. There are several methods of Zhaobao Tai Chi push hands, such as fixed-step single push hands, fixed-step double push hands, up-down push hands, random stepping push hands, and large-scale push hands. The commonly used methods are up-down push hands and random stepping push hands.
First of all, it should be noted that Zhaobao Tai Chi push hands is a contest of circles, not a confrontation of forces, so Zhaobao Tai Chi is called “Pushing Tai Chi”. In push hands, through the tactile perception of the skin, you can achieve the advanced realm of listening, leading, transforming, combining, and releasing, explore the opponent’s center of gravity and strength in the transformation of yin and yang, and then use the boxing skills of Zhaobao Tai Chi to destroy the opponent’s center of gravity and make it lose balance.
Stabilize your center of gravity and try to stick, stick, connect, follow, do not lose or push, switch between real and fake, use the introduction to fall into the air, use four ounces to move a thousand pounds, store the strength first and then release it, when storing, put the two hands together, then kick the legs, stretch the body, and turn the palms to combine the three forces, when rolling the two hands outward, you must make sure that the thumbs are down and the little fingers are up, and the two hands must be rolled into Yin palms, but the two hands cannot pass, and knock the opponent down skillfully.
Secondly, Zhaobao Tai Chi push hands should be courageous. Our teacher Mr. Zheng Wuqing taught us that when practicing the boxing form, “there is no one in front of you as if there is someone”, and when really fighting with others, “there is someone in front of you as if there is no one”. We should exercise according to this method. First of all, we must not lose in our hearts. Those who are timid and timid will never win. We attach importance to the opponent in strategy and despise the opponent in tactics. We must be courageous and strong to defeat the opponent.
Zhaobao Tai Chi enthusiasts often say “one courage, two strength, and three release”, and some also say “one cruel, two poison, and three release”.
Zhaobao Taijiquan push hands adopts the upper eight methods “peng, lu, ji, an, cai, li, zhou, kao”, the middle eight methods “gao, di, zong, heng, jin, tui, fang, ce”, and the lower eight methods “tangling, knelt, jiao, liao, bi, bi, guai, teng”, a total of 24 methods, which make the opponent lose balance in the fight, and use the method of giving up oneself and following others, and cleverly knock the opponent out, and use the fighting secrets of Zhaobao Taijiquan “small, clever, close, fast, smart, sticky, sticky, connected, following, transforming, leading, grabbing, and launching” to achieve good results in pushing hands and make the opponent unable to touch our strength.
Our whole body moves like a cat, the mind must be in order, and the eyes must be focused , the victory will come naturally if the hands and feet are used together. When striking, you should strike from the front, hit the throat from above and the groin from below, the left and right ribs and the center; a distance of ten feet is not far, a close attack is only within a few feet; do not strike when you see an empty space, do not strike when you see a trick. The joints must be smooth, otherwise they will be powerless; the hand handles must be controlled, otherwise there will be changes; the start must be fast, otherwise there will be hesitation; the strike must be fierce, otherwise it will lose its prestige; the hands and feet must be flexible, otherwise it will be dangerous; the intention must be refined, otherwise it will be fooled; the three joints must be in line, and the four ends must be in line. All these must be practiced day and night, at first reluctantly, but after a long time, it will become natural, from familiarity of the moves to gradual understanding of the power, from understanding the power to the level of gods, to achieve the advanced state of being able to do whatever you want and to be defeated at any time.
